Pondering (B. W. T.)

I have had the opportunity to read several mailings sent by "The Brotherhood of the White Temple" and have come to the same conclusion that I usually do when reading about religion.

I like that it includes all belief systems. I don't think there is any "right" religion to follow. All roads lead to the same path type thinking. That is, if you believe there is something more out there to continue on with.

Of course, being inclusive to everyone was probably a smart move, why deny anyone willing to join? The more, the merrier... or richer!

It is also repetitive. If I read it in a letter, later it would be found in a small book, then in a larger one, next were the lessons. Someone paid to read things over and over again, had they waited for the book format, they could have saved some money.

Having it come come out (at first) in bits and pieces left people hanging and made sure they would be back for more, just like a weekly television show. It also works in a way that instills things in your mind. Say something often enough and it becomes truth, or the new normal.

We see this in the news all the time. Propaganda headlines bombarded for weeks and months at a time. True or not, people tend to believe it. One day a small ten second blurb comes out on it not being accurate, if you missed it, then for you, that will always be the true account of events. The younger generation will never know any different. I think most things done now are for that very reason.

(Wag the dog)

In any case, I don't think religion is a bad thing to believe in. It is the part where bad people use a belief system as an excuse for doing bad things. In the end it is the person who is bad, not the religion. There are many good people who mean well in those faiths. Having hope for a better life can't hurt anyone. If it relieves you of the stresses of what goes on in life, it has served a purpose. It has helped.

What gets me is that we never really know if trying to reach the ultimate goal ever happens. If we try it while we are here on Earth and don't succeed, it is because of some type of fault we have. For those that say they have succeeded, we will never know, I could say I have and you have no way of proving me wrong.

People toil and follow these rules to ensure a life elsewhere after the death of the body. So you don't get that until you die. How convenient. You would almost think that it was all about keeping everyone in line during our stay on Earth.

As for doomsday predictions, when that doesn't come about, it is not because the person was wrong, it was that they and the followers, by virtue of mindset were able to thwart it from happening. But if they don't continue on with the goal, it could happen again. There is never a day in which it will ever end.

For all my skepticism, I found many good things, like the importance of healthy living and breathing properly. The usual stuff about being kind and not being negative all the time. I agree with that. Why not make the world a better place? Being negative doesn't do anyone good, it only makes your own world a miserable place to be in.

I can't fault anyone for wanting to make a living, even wanting to get rich. We all need to work and have money. Some people are better at it than others.

When it comes to all the other stuff about dimensions and other beings, who am I to say it is not true? Does it hurt anyone if someone does believe it? Maybe other religions (in their pocket book). But for the average person? I don't think so.

There are somethings that I have seen that can't be explained away as nothing, so I have to believe there is something more out there, what it is, I can't tell you. I guess that is why I find belief systems so interesting, because I am longing for an answer. One that I will probably never get.

Because I was brought up in a family that followed this, in a casual way, it was just normal, I didn't know any different and it didn't seem odd. Other people thought I was an odd child! Ha! I thought everyone knew all about this stuff, try talking about that in the seventies as a child and you would see some strange looks on peoples faces.

It's a good thing that I am not wishing to advance to other planes or thinking that I have to spend my entire life following one thing or another. And if I die and there is nothing more, oh well, I won't know it, will I? But I do want to be happy while I am here, trying to make the world a better place, a kinder place, can't hurt me or anyone else. As long as I don't contribute to the negativity and wrongs, then it's all good. If I have helped brighten a persons day, just by being kind, or being a shoulder, a smile to a stranger having a bad day, I might pass the gates...or not.

That's all for now, except there are many good things to be found in these books, even for those that don't believe in anything. It is far better than watching reality shows and half the junk on tv right now.
